HR Services

When at first we engaged Tandom, we were not in a position to hire a full time HR

person and we found that the package offered by them was ideal for us.

We did not have time to maintain records and adhere to procedures as we would ideally have liked to and it was a great relief to us to have Tandom implement their systems.

After just a short time we were awarded the Quality Employer status by The Irish Hotels Federation and this was as a direct result of employing their services.

We were also delighted that all HR procedures from Recruitment to Selection to Induction and Training were now being done in a professional and systematic way. It was also good to know that from a legal standpoint that we knew our records and procedures were up to date. The systems used by Tandom are excellent. Their understanding of the industry is obvious in the way that the induction process is handled and in how the process is seamlessly and effectively handed over to our departmental heads to carry the process forward. We liked the fact that Tandom would tailor the process according to our needs and required input.

Training & Development

In addition to implementing HR procedures, Tandom worked with us in developing and coaching our key staff. This was tremendously valuable to us and very much appreciated by our Managers and Heads of department. As a result of this our product has been greatly developed and our turnover increased. The team development programmes have been excellent in bringing about a team spirit which is invaluable in an industry such as ours. This has definitely resulted in a much higher degree of guest satisfaction. “I found life coaching very useful. I didn’t think it would work over the phone but it turned out to be very successful. The sessions were like having a gentle mirror put up to me. Deirdre was helpful in pointing out where I had assumptions about what the situation was. Sometimes the assumptions were not really what I believed in. The practical part of doing things, tasks was really good. I’d been living in Cork for five years and somehow after the first session Deirdre picked up about me and wall climbing. I’d meant to get around to doing indoor wall climbing but hadn’t and she asked me to do it before the next session a week later. I said I might, then, that I would, and I did. I felt great afterwards. The doing things part of it was great, positive. It was all quite challenging too. I loved the exercise looking at values and I think the basic ideas behind life-coaching are solid and very helpful. It was great to have an independent person there, focused on me, to tease out what was bothering me. I’d been a bit depressed about one part of my life and now I’m much more upbeat, balanced. I would recommend life-coaching to anyone. Of course it depends on how the coach suits the person. I would recommend Deirdre. She was open minded, positive and has excellent ears. I spend money servicing my car and think the same for my mental health is well worth it.”
